Founder's Story

I had a dream… We all have dreams. My dream was to be successful — but I am glad that at the early age of 18 I knew I would script my own meaning of what success was.

I grew up in Mumbai, shared a room with my elder siblings and grandpa, but never felt a shortage of space. I left for Delhi to work and study — that's where I learnt that life is different when you don't have your parents physically around.

I worked in a garment factory as an intern and took up challenges to meet deadlines, learning what international quality standards truly meant. A tough life makes you tough — physically and mentally.

"On my 18th birthday I sat alone on a terrace having bhendi and roti. I could have been back home growing up like any other teenager — but it was a life I chose."

Coach Mohite told just a few of us to stay away from alcohol and cigarettes — and we would enjoy not just sport, but all of life into our 50s and 60s too. Those words were so strong that in March 2026, I turned 53, still actively playing soccer and cricket with men two and three decades younger than me.

Fast forward to 2026 — I built Tanners Pride. Today, every time a customer sends a thank you message because our product exceeded their expectation, or because we slipped in a small unexpected gift — that is my real success. Not the balance sheet.

My biggest yardstick is to grow Tanners Pride into one of the most loved and respected leather brands in the world.
